Titanic Struggle at West Wave

The Marist Magic turned the tables round tonight in their National League mens clash at West Wave as they inflicted a narrow victory by 9-8 over the Waitakere Blue Devils to avenge last weeks loss to the Blue Devils.

It was a tight affair with the scores all locked up at 5 apiece at the half time break.

Marist edged ahead in the third quarter to take a 9-7 lead but Waitakere refused to lie down with Marist hanging on 9-8 to take the match.

Alessandro Valania top scored for Waitakere with 3 goals, whilst Phil Howat and year 13 student, Callum Lane each netted twice for Waitakere.

Marist next play hosts to the Windy City Renegades fresh from an 8-5 defeat tonight to the North Harbour Turtles. That match will be played at Sacred Heart Aquatic Centre at 2pm Sunday. whilst North Harbour men make the trek out West to match up with the Blue Devils at West Wave at 7.45pm
