Top of the South Supercross & Have A Go Day - Feb 28
Following the great racing over the weekend, the Club is putting together another opportunity for our riders to enjoy our club facility. Here's your chance to to experience some MORE top racing on one of the country's best tracks, without the pressure of a big crowd and national competition!we have MX1 & MX2 classes for the fast (and not so fast) racers, PLUS a non competitive Have A Go Support class for anyone who just wants to come out on their bike and have some fun!
Good racing protective gear is needed, entry is on the day, and we'll have more details for you as we get closer to it.
The Juniors will be split to 125/250's (Open), 85's (Lite), and a non competitive Have A Go Support class as well. Set for 28 February at the Rat Track, there'll be more info to follow, so check out the flyer - CLICK HERE

2010 TASMAN SPEED WEEK What other region could boast five superb motorcycling events run in the first week of the new year?
From the Nelson Road Racing Assn. Port Nelson Street Races, through the Nelson Motor Cycle Club's Morley Honda Beach races, the Thunderbike Powersports Endurocross, the Teltrac South Island Supercross Champs and to the final event in the Suzuki Spectacular National Supercross Champs round - it was a week full of high paced action, hard work and glory for the riders. I guess if you add in the weekend Speedway it made for one heck of a show for petrolheads! * * * The club received this for our members and supporters
To all those who helped make the first 10 days of the new year such a great success a BIG thank you. Without your contribution there wouldnt have been any events. It was great to see some new faces amongst the members who give up their time and energy to put on events for your enjoyment, and particularly pleasing to see some Junior members helping out.
If you look at the event calendar and see an event coming up that you want to ride at, give the organiser a ring and offer some assistance. It does not take much, even ½ an hour at the end of the day to help pack up is most appreciated, remember many hands make light work.
I was at the Supercross on the weekend and on Saturday: Del Morgan, Marie Morgan, Bob Cooke, Murray Thorn, Sandy Bandy, Jannine Pope, Matt Wratten and myself were all present as Life Members of our Club, as well as Les Roberts the Club Patron. Of those present, 7 were volunteers helping with the event! (NB The only surviving Life Member absent was John Dobson - Jannine)
As Neil Ritchie commented 5 marvellous events in the first 10 days of the new decade is a feat probably unmatched by any motorcycle club in the world
Cheers, Paul Searancke Vice President & Life Member

Cody Cooper v Scott Columb v Ben Townley v Jesse Wiki v Brad Groombridge - Both Saturday & Sunday racing was HOT!

Thunderbike Powersports Top of the South Endurocross
at the Richmond Showground
The racing was fast - as fast as logs, see-saws, water jumps and ditches can allow! Congratulations to the racers - you all provided a great spectacle, as evidenced by the cheers and rousing welcomes at various of the obstacles from onlookers. As organisers, a huge improvement in skills during the day plus requests for a 2010 series were noted - watch this space!
Thanks again to Thunderbike Powersports as principal sponsor, plus all others that helped out at this great event.
And a few more from Colin Campbell for the junior racers CLICK HERE (Don't click online adverts though!) Please feel free to pass me in your online album links or your pix for everyone to enjoy
The riders came and showed off their riding skills and we all enjoyed a real spectacle of skills and racing too - and as for the water jump, Broxy was impressed!

MORLEY HONDA BEACH RACES
The Morley Honda Beach Races at Rabbit Island got moved forward from 3pm as the high wind held the blue moon tides up the beach, and we all got a sandblasting, but we had a blast and I doubt there was much sunburn around! Jason Feaver took out a Beach Double, with his King of the Beach title in the Morley Honda Modern Feature Race, a repeat of his 2008 inaugural Rabbit Island venture win, and Greg Dodson on the Tenere 750cc adventure bike won the Neville Askew Classic Feature Race (Neville would have loved the bike). Club secretary Richard East certainly made an impression this year on that CB750 road bike - him and Jaden Curtis on the BMW K100 (1000cc) made the straights look sweet, and those two corners? Well! And how about 25 quads in full flight, or a beach straight full of 35 Open class motocrossers!
Congratulations to sponsor Morley Honda and all the team for this brilliant day's racing
