U19 team finished in 12th position at the North Island U19 Teams Event at Waitakere over Queens Birthday weekend. U15, U17, U19 juniors train on Monday evenings. U13 juniors train on Wednesday evenings. Recreational juniors play on Tuesday nights. Adults - Monday nights at 7-30pm Thursday mornings 9-30am to 11-30am Masters Division 2 team achieves a rare feat in Auckland on Saturday 24 July - a complete draw with Northland 6-6 13-13 461-461. The team earlier in the day beat North Harbour 3 11-1. U15 and U19 teams played in the first round of the Central Region Teams Competition at Palmerston North on Sunday 13 June. U13 and U17 teams played the first round of the Central Region Teams Competition at Palmerston North on Sunday 20 June. Veterans Division 1 team played at home on 26 June against Waitakere (won 8-1) and Wellington North (won 8-1). Veterans Division 3 team travelled to Thames Valley to play their second round series on Saturday 26 June. U15 and U17 teams compete in the North Island Teams Competition at Palmerston North on 4 - 7 July - U17 team finish in 10th place and the U15 side take 8th place in Division 2. U17 players compete in the North Island U17 Championships at Palmerston North on 7-9 July - Gabby Hogan and Kara Jurgens reach the U17 Girls Doubles quarter-finals and Gabby is runner-up in the U17 Girls Singles Plate.

Wanganui Badminton Association is the 'gatekeeper' for the sport of badminton in Wanganui city and surrounding areas.
Various badminton events and programmes for people of all ages are provided. Both recreational and competitive elements are catered for.
4 courts of a high international standard are housed in the Springvale Stadium Extension which is situated within Springvale Park. The main road access to the building comes off of London Street.
Recreational activities include: Juniors on Tuesday nights - refer to the Juniors tab. Monday night club - refer to the Club tab. Thursday morning group - refer to the Club tab. Casual play - refer to the CASUAL PLAY tab. Schools programme - refer to Schools tab.
Competitive activities include: Juniors in 4 age groups of under 13 (U13), U15, U17, U19 - refer to the Juniors tab. Wanganui Junior Open tournament - refer to Juniors tab. Seniors representative team - refer to Seniors tab. Masters and Veterans representative teams - refer to the Masters tab. Schools competition for Year 5 and 6 pupils, Year 7 and 8 pupils and secondary schools - refer to the Schools tab. NZ Masters Games - refer to the NZ Masters Games tab.
Wanganui U19 team finishes in 12th spot at the North Island U19 Teams Competition held at Waitakere over Queen's Birthday weekend.
Wanganui Masters Division 2 team (our top team) plays against Waikato and Bay of Plenty at the Stadium this Saturday (12 June). Play starts at 10am and will conclude around 4pm.
Wanganui Masters Division 5 team (our second team) plays at Rotorua on Saturday 12 June.
The Wanganui U19 and U15 teams compete on Sunday 13 June at Palmerston North in the first round of the Central Regions Teams Competition. (see the documents section for the draw) |
