The Millennium Swim School has learn to swim classes to suit everyone from babies to adults. Our qualified instructors teach swimming skills and place importance on water safety in a safe and friendly environment.
Class sizes are kept small to ensure every swimmer receives individual attention.

All our teachers have undergone a minimum of 20 hours training, as well as certification in First Aid and Swim Teaching. Ongoing training is also compulsory

Learn to swim class levels
Children Waterbabies & Toddlers Age: 6 months - 3 years
Skills: Enjoyment of the water through songs, games and encouragement
Cost: $10/lesson
Pre-School Age: 3 - 5 years
Skills: Basic skills: dog paddling, floating, freestyle, backstroke
Cost: $11/lesson
Learn-to-Swim (Small Pool) Age: 5 - 8 years
Skills: Development of confidence, strength and skills: focus on freestyle and backstroke
Cost: $12/lesson
Learn-to-Swim (Main Pool) Age: 5 - 9 years
Skills: Technique Improvement: all strokes, starts and turns
Cost: $12/lesson
Squad Age: 8 - 15 years
Skills: Advanced Techniques. Also squads that cater for those wishing to keep fit, or practice skills needed for waterpolo, surf lifesaving, and triathlons

Teenage Classes Age: 13 - 17 years
Skills: For teen beginners who wish to gain confidence and swimming ability in a class of similarly aged participants
Cost: $12/lesson
Adults It is never too late to learn! We have friendly and relaxed classes for beginners, Monday and Wednesday evenings. These classes feature development of water confidence, basic safety skills and strokes.
Cost: $14/lesson (Booked in a block of 4)
SwimFit Squad A step up from the Adult Beginner classes, the SwimFit squad operates Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings as well as Tuesday and Thursday evenings, this squad focuses on stroke development, general fitness and stamina.
Cost: Members: Free, Casual: $12/session Concession: $90/10 sessions.
School Holiday Programmes Intensive swim programmes are conducted every school holidays for school age children. Its a great way to improve your childs swimming skills. Many respond particularly well to having lessons each day. The programme includes five 30-minute lessons Monday to Friday.

Millennium Swim School has around 30 staff, all highly motivated to train swimmers to the best of their ability. All staff have their First Aid Certificate and have either attained or are working towards their Swim Teacher Qualification.
Millennium Swim School structure
Millennium Swim School operates on a perpetual basis, meaning lessons are taught approximately 47 weeks of the year. This is in order to ensure continual improvement of the childrens strokes.
Swimming lesson times
Swimming lessons are run 7 days a week, with Waterbaby and Pre-School lessons between 9am and 3pm on weekdays, and School-Age and Squads after school from 3.30pm to 6.30pm. On the weekend, there is a mixture of all levels, with lessons operating 9am to 3pm on Saturdays, and 9am till 12.30pm on Sundays.
Quality swim school
Millennium Swim School is a Quality Swim School, in association with Swimming New Zealand and NZSCAT (NZ Swim Teachers and Coaches Association). This means staff training and SNZ qualifications are a priority, ensuring your children are receiving up-to-date content delivered by informed teaching practices.

We have a free assessment for all newcomers to the swim school to ascertain their ability and find a suitable class.
