TOUCH HAWKES BAY OBJECTIVES 1. To promote, encourage, foster, develop, extend, govern and control the sport of Touch in the Hawkes Bay Region.
2. To co-ordinate, encourage, assist and support legitimate activities of members of the Association.
3. To establish and maintain standardised playing rules and regulations for Touch.
4. To promote, organise, oversee and conduct competitions, tournaments and other events pertaining to Touch.
Touch Hawkes Bay are in their 4th year of a 7 year development plan to rebuild Touch in the Hawkes Bay.
The past 3 years have been focused on building the infrastructure required to sustain the sport into the future. Working Committee and Referees. At the end of the 2008 - 2009 season the focus turned to stage 2. Developing our players and Coaching. Starting with Juniors in the 2009 - 2010 season and introducing adult/Senior Touch in 2010 - 2011.
It is envisaged Touch will become one of Hawke's Bay's largest team participation sports in the coming years if not the largest.
Winter Touch will be coming to Hawkes Bay soon so watch this space for more.
CONGRATULATIONS Seraan Logan & Hayley Johnson, Both these girls were selected at the TNZ U15/17s Nationals in Auckland in the tournament team which will attend the TNZ Elite training camp in Rotorua from 26-29th September 2009.Seeran was selected in the U15 Girls & Hayley the U17 Girls.
