Netball Tasman Inc was founded in 1999 when under the directive from Netball New Zealand; New Zealand Netball was divided into 12 regions.

Tasman was formed and comprises of 5 Netball Centres, Buller, Golden Bay, Marlborough, Motueka and Nelson. These 5 centres are governed by Netball Tasman which in turn is governed by Netball New Zealand.

Netball Tasman has a membership of over 6000 participants including players, officials, umpires, coaches, managers, volunteers and supporters.
