Northern United Rugby Football Club Inc was  established in 1989 as a result of the amalgamation of the Porirua and Titahi Bay Rugby Football Clubs.

Norths is the playing name that associates Northern United RFC within the Wellington Rugby Football Union.  The first playing strip was a combination of the Porirua Rugby Club Jersey and the Titahi Bay Rugby Club Shorts and Socks.

The official blue and white playing strip was introduced in 1990, this maybe why most think that the amalgamation happened in 1990 instead of 1989.  2009 was our 20th Anniversary as Northern United Rugby Football Club.

Headquarters for Norths is at Trust Porirua Park, 100 Mungavin Ave, Porirua. This facility is rated the Top Premier ground in the Wellington competition, and lies second only to the Westpac Stadium.

Club membership is 300 playing members in the senior club and 340 social members. In the schoolboy sections there are approximately 500 playing members with significant parental support. In total the Norths Rugby Club has some form of participation from approximately 1,000 people in the local community.

The Norths club rooms is also used by the Wellington Rugby Football Union for their aftermatch functions when they play representative games at Trust Porirua Park. It is
also utilized by the Western Bays Rugby Assn and the Wellington Samoans Rugby Assn.

The newly refurbished Club rooms is available for hire for Private functions, i.e. prize givings, 21st etc. Go to the Facilities Group in the menu above to inquire or book your function or event.

The Northern United Rugby Football Club is one of the City of Porirua’ s major sporting associations delivering community based sport to 1500 to 2500 players throughout the Porirua region.

The home ground of Norths RFC is Trust Porirua Park.
