Wairau Rowing Club was established on the banks of the Wairau River CLICK HERE in July 1910. It has provided rowing opportunities to Marlburians ever since. Its modern facilities and racing equipment ensure that its members have the very best opportunity to perform well at rowing regattas and have the best chance of higher honours in national crews at all levels of the sport.

The club is host to Marlborough Girls College Rowing where girls from the school have the opportunity to take on the sport of rowing and enjoy the facilities the club has to offer.

The club is also the host for the Central Region High Performance Centre, one of four in New Zealand tasked with providing rowers in the lower half of the North Island and upper half of the South Island the very best rowing equipment, shore facilities & support, training water, training program, and coaches necessary for them to be developed into the next generation of New Zealand representatives at World Championship and Olympic level.

The club also provides for Corporate rowing where crews are made up from employees and friends who train for a fixed period and finally compete for the Window Treatments trophy at a regatta held on the Wairau river immediately in front of the club.

Training water is amongst the best in the New Zealand with the Wairau River CLICK HERE providing kilometres of pristine water that is virtually unaffected by weather conditions, Nelson National Park Lakes Rotoiti and Rotoroa CLICK HERE and access to the Marlborough Sounds. CLICK HERE
