WOODEND BOWLING CLUB
is a very well presented, one green club, approximately 20 minutes north of Christchurch. It has a green which was re-done in 2009. The Canterbury Centre Greenkeepers have worked hard to bring the green up to standard over the Christmas New Year holidays.
The Membership base is not far off the optimum number.
Woodend's teams are quite competitive and the club has a reputation for friendliness and hospitality.
The town is adjacent to the new major residential development of Pegasus which, on completion, will provide a very good source of potential new members and social players.
The club has established an excellent relationship with the senior students at the primary school which adjoins the club and a youth bowls programme for up to 100 children per week has been developed.
Woodend's executive is committed to being in control of its own destiny and is responding to the various challenges facing the club.
