The Hawke's Bay Cricket Camps were established in 1979 and have been organised by Hawke's Bay Cricket Association since 2002. They have been a very successful breeding ground for a number of first class and New Zealand cricketers with Ross Taylor, Jamie How, Jeetan Patel, Jacob Oram, Jesse Ryder, Sara McGlashan and Sophie Devine to name a few.

Here is a brief summary of the cricket camps.
• 96 teams attended the cricket camps (included two Invitation XI’s)
• 231 games played over 17 days
• 6 x hattricks
• 41 x fifties
• 4 x hundreds
• There were 64 teams from outside the Napier/Hastings area.
• Over 600 families visited Hawke’s Bay to watch there children play cricket.
