The WHAC Children's Athletics section caters for junior athletes in the 5 - 14yr age group. We provide coaching and competition in the full range of athletics track and field events during the Summer based at Newtown Park, and also cross country and road racing in Winter based at the WHAC clubrooms, Alexandra Road, Mt Victoria.
We look forward to welcoming you to the club, and trust that the information on this website answers your questions, and keeps you informed of what the club is doing.
Many of our athletes had an opportunity to shine on the 2nd day of the Junior Champs. A further 24 medals (9 from our 4 x 100m relay teams) took our tally for the Champs to 45.
A huge congratulations to every single competitor. You gave your all, and sometimes others were stronger or faster on the day...but being able to learn from that, and pick yourself up ready to try harder next time is what really makes a winner. So thank you all for representing our club with pride.
Special thanks to our team managers Wendy Milne and Jeff Forman, and to all the parents for helping out with our club duties (and the BBQ in week 1!).
