There are 6 teams across Auckland competing in the AAFL. The season runs from September to early December. Auckland also fields a team in the annual NPC competition and its players make up the majority of the NZ International  team.

2010 Lightning Premiership Winners - The North Shore Tigers!!!  

30th August 2010

Congratulations to the North Shore Tigers for winning the 2010 Lightning Premiership.   It came down to the last kick of the day - a very exciting finish!  A great start to the season for new Tigers coach, Sula Sucu and being well supported by Vivienne Sucu, The season ahead looks very promising for the North Shore Tigers.  Well done to Mt Roskill for making the final and to the other teams for their committement ton the day in wet, scrawly conditions..  Great to see good numbers from most clubs.     Welcome to all new players, we trust you will enjoy learning new skills and enjoy being  part of an exciting sport in the weeks ahead.

BEST & FAIREST AWARD WINNERS

AAFL Awards 2009 – a great night on Friday 27 November at Shadows Bar on the University of Auckland campus in the city which most agreed is a great venue and right in the heart of the city!!! This years AAFL premier award for the Best & Fairest Player for 2009 goes to Lewis Hurst from the Mt Roskill Saints- Well done Lewis!!! and congratulations to all award winners.
