Each year Manawatu enters 2 teams in the Masters Badminton North Island Teams Competition.
Manawatu Masters 1 is in division 3 and Manawatu Masters 2 is in division 4
Age eligibility for Masters is anyone who becomes 40 years of age, or older, anytime during the year of the competition.
A Masters team has a minimum of 4 women and 4 men.
A Tie consists of 4 womens doubles matches, 4 mens doubles matches and 4 mixed doubles matches: a total of 12 matches (No singles matches are played) . Each match is the best of 3 games to 21 points with extension.
