In 2012 Manawatu is entering a 2nd Veterans team in the Veterans Badminton North Island Teams Competition.
Manawatu Veterans 1 are in division 2.
Manawatu Veterans 2 will start in division 4
Age eligibility for Vets is anyone who becomes 50 years of age, or older, anytime during the year of the competition.
A Vets team has a minimum of 3 women and 3 men.
A Tie consists of 3 womens doubles matches, 3 mens doubles matches and 3 mixed doubles matches: a total of 9 matches (No singles matches are played)

Each match is the best of 3 games to 21 points with extension.
