The South Canterbury SCORPIONS is a club formed by former SCRFU "A" representative players
Former representative "A" players are encouraged to join in, follow South Canterbury rugby and meet up with old team mates.
Also eligible to join are referees who have controlled first class representative games and former representative "A" players, from other provinces, now residing in South Canterbury.
The club was formed in 1963. The name SCORPIONS is derived from the initials designating their status - South Canterbury Old Representative players - giving "Scorp", and added on , to give their tail more sting the suffix "ions" which means "electrified particles".
