Wanganui Badminton Association is the 'gatekeeper' for the sport of badminton in Wanganui city and surrounding regional areas.

Various badminton events and programmes for people of all ages are provided for in both the recreational and competitive elements.

4 courts of a high international standard are housed in the Springvale Stadium Extension which is situated within Springvale Park. The main road access to the building comes off of London Street.

Junior Badminton 2012.

Junior events for 2012 will be getting underway shortly. The selected squads for u15 and u17 will commence on Monday 20 February for a 5pm to 7pm session and the u19 group will commence on the same date but operate between 7pm and 9pm.

The u13 squad commences on Wednesday 22 February with 6pm to 7-30pm sessions.

These groups will operate through the school term weeks until the end of term 3.

The casual junior sessions run on Tuesday nights starting on 6 March with the younger group (up to Year 8 pupils) between 6pm and 7pm followed by secondary school pupils from 7pm. These sessions operate during the school terms until early November. A nightly fee of $3 is charged and all the equipment is provided.

Year 7 and 8 students will have a 7 week competition running on Thursday afterschool at the Rutherford Junior High School Gym from 23 February to 3 April (Tuesday night finals). Entry to this competition is to be made through the respective school. Details will be available to the schools from Wednesday 8 February.
