We are a new club based in Invercargill, New Zealand. Looking after the interests of Land Yachts, (Blo-karts), Windsurfing and Kiting, (including Kite Surfing, Kite Bugging, Kite Boarding, Snow Kiting), in the southern region of New Zealand.
Where we play
Oreti Beach is a 26km long hard packed sand beach, where blo-karts, buggy's and boards enjoy the mostly westerly winds here in Southland. The surf on the beach is a playground for both Kitesurfers and Windsurfers. All within 10 minutes drive from Invercargill.
Awarua Bay is 30 minutes south of Invercargill, is a flat water haven for all wind directions.
Riverton is 45mins west of Invercargill, for an easterly wind. Or continue round the corner to Colac Bay or Monkey Island.
Just a reminder about the Surf to City tomorrow morning. Meeting at the entrance at 8:00 am- with a bit of luck the Southerly predicted will puff just enough for us to get in the water and play around.
For those doing the race, it only starts at 9.30 so plenty of time to get a kite in.
