Dziah Dance Academy have made a huge impact in the New Zealand Hip Hop street dance arena. The Academy have been together for 5 years and have formulated a unique style that has showcased throughtout New Zealand and on World stages.
Dziah Dance Academy is made up of three performing crews.
Dziah 2.0 (Adults),all male crew 18-21 years
Dskyz (Varsity) all male crew ages 13-17 years.
Dziah Development Crew (Mixed Varsity crew) have just started performing dancers aged 12-16
Inclusive are the Academy dancers from ages 7 to 25years.
The Academy has approximately 80 members that makeup the development and performance crews. The academy has a diverse multi cultural following
The multi talented members hail from South Auckland communities and multi-cultured ethnic crews of Māori,Nuie, Canadian,Cook Island, Irish, Samoan, Tongan,South African,Cambodian, Fijian, English,NZ European, Italian, Philipino and Russian.
Dziah Academy History
Dziah Dance Academy has made a huge impact in New Zealand street style hip-hop dance arena. Starting from humble beginnings in Otara 8 years ago Dziah emerged from one persons dream to a three man crew in 2004. This crew stormed South Auckland and went on to win regional and national titles.
2005 Dziah was the first New Zealand crew to make finals at the World Hip Hop Championships in Los Angels, USA.
2006 this team went on to win 2nd place on the world stage. Pioneering New Zealand’s unique style in Hip Hop. This escalated throughout New Zealand and International arenas.
Dziah Dance Academy will continue to lift the standard of it’s performers, and build the dance community within New Zealand as it has done for the past 8 years.
From strength to strength DDA will continue to build and guide the desire to perform in our young upcoming talent.
It has a voluntary management team of five as well as the individual crew leaders. This team manage the entire operations for the Dziah Youth Trust. DZIAH has had many successes, trophies and titles nationally and internationally over the past five years.
However, its achievements are in the development of youth.
