The Miyagi Kan Karate Club was founded in New Zealand in February 1996.
Currently the club operates out of 79 Walton Street Whangarei, and has branches in Dargaville and Kawakawa, and now Glenfield, North Shore, Auckland.

We cater for all ages with classes available to anyone six days a week, in Whangarei and two days a week at Dargaville or Kawakawa and Glenfield.

The club is based on full traditional Karate training. We are also introducing training with Hojo Undo implements, such as Chi Ishi, Ishi Sashi, Nigiri Game, Kongoken, Tan. See site with these training implements in action.Click Here

We had special training seminars with Hanshi George Barounis 8th Dan, and World Champion Kristina Mah from the Miyagi Kan Sydney Dojo during mid December 2010. Pictured in the Gallery are some shots that Kristina shot. Also attached are some photos from 2009 Morrocan trip. Jason Jeffares of Whangarei,was awarded his Nidan Certificate. Sensei Craig Nordstrand was awarded his Godan Certificate. And Sophia Hoto achieved her Shodan-Ho Grading, on this visit by Shihan.
