Welcome to the North East Valley Cricket Club. Known as the North East Valley Swans, we are based in Dunedin, New Zealand.
The club was established in 1920 and since then has had a long and proud history of promoting and playing cricket with distinction in the region. The club has produced a number of current and former Blackcaps.
We pride ourselves on having fun, being inclusive and playing within the spirit of the game - no matter what level of ability you have or what type of experience you are looking to get out of cricket, NEVCC has something to offer. We welcome all new members.

Obituary
We have been shocked and saddened by the sudden death this week of our Patron, Ken Laing.
Ken joined the Club in 1968, a mere 45 years ago. I have known him or played with him all that time. Ken has been a Senior and Second Grade player, Committee member, Life Member, President and Patron of the Club. What he will be most remembered for, however, will be his captaincy of the second grade team for many years. It is no exaggeration to say that he has been a father figure to several generations of Valley players who have passed through the Seconds under Ken’s captaincy.
At the age of 68 Ken was still playing second grade cricket, a feat we may never see repeated.
We all have fond memories of Ken’s thermos and Rose’s home baking every Saturday afternoon. He has been hugely generous of both time and money for the Club. We remember in particular those solo efforts to turn trees into fundraising firewood. Thousands of dollars worth over the years.
Ken is a Valley legend who has earned the respect of all those he played with and against. We treasure a Murray Webb drawing of Ken which will continue to hold pride of place in the clubrooms during all the seasons to come. He was a real character and we will miss his cheerful laugh.
We all feel a great sense of loss but we know that our loss is only a small fraction of the loss that Rose and the family have suffered and our hearts and thoughts go out to them.
Farewell Ken.
