Parihaka Sports Club Inc. is the umbrella organisation for two sporting codes:
Waka Ama
We are one of the largest, and fastest growing, waka ama clubs in Northland.
Our club competes with distinction at regional, national and international levels, as well as hosting beginner paddlers and those who just love getting out on our beautiful harbour and coast.
We provide training and coaching in all aspects of paddling, with a strong emphasis on safety. We also have a programme to take waka ama into schools.
Our waka are based at
Kissing Point on Riverside Drive (by the blue boatsheds on the way to Onerahi).
Our crews are on the water most days, particularly in the summer, and you are most welcome to come and see what we do or have a go – whether you are a brand new paddler or gnarly veteran.
Club Training Nights
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 p.m.
Social Paddling Nights
Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00 p.m.
Hockey
We have a hockey club that has been in the Whangarei competition for over 20 years. Some of our players and their friends are also paddlers.
