Join us to celebrate one of the largest national day events in the country. This 13th annual gathering is organised by Ngati Kahungunu Iwi Inc at the spectacular $20 million dollar Hawke's Bay Sports Park in Hastings. The day will feature the 2012 Kahungunu Regional Kapa Haka Competitions, $1,000 Touch Tournament, Kahungunu Netball and Volleyball Championships and the National Krump Dance Competition. The day will include a home grown stage displaying local talent from our rangatahi stars of today and tomorrow. Traditional Maori Sports Demonstrations, Relay Races for the kids and lots more. Come buy some Native Art, learn about what services are available to our communities and enjoy this national day at this free Waitangi Day event.
There's a world-class covered 2500 seat grandstand providing all day weather protection and 60 toilets for comfort and convenience.
