Hawkes Bay Mountain Bike Club Incorporated (HBMTBC), is New Zealands largest mountain bike club with members from all over the Hawkes Bay plus other regions and is affiliated to MTBNZ, which is part of BikeNZ (a combination of all the cycling codes).

The HBMTBC operate 4 venues:
Eskdale, Aropaoanui, Pukeora & Taradale Dirt Park

ESKDALE MTB PARK is the premier spot to ride on the east of the North Island, just north of Napier. There are over 80km of trails (growing in number every month), spread over 880 acres. Most are two-way and all are signposted.

AROPAOANUI DH PARK, as the name suggests is another forest further north with 4 purpose built downhill trails.

PUKEORA HILL MTB PARK is located just 5 minutes out of Waipukurau, with over 10km of XC trails plus a couple of small jump tracks within 120 acres of pine forest.

You MUST have a permit to access these privately-owned, production forests. Either join the Hawke’s Bay MTB Club, or buy a "3 Week Temp Permit" for $7 from local bike shops, Information Centres & a few other outlets, or purchase online on the HBMTBC website.
