There are 10 or so crags within 1 1/2 hours of Taupo with lots of development happening. Check out the freeclimb link below for local crags.
The main purposes of forming the club are:
* fund raising * promoting safety * storing information
We've raised money for new climbs, to spend on bolts / hangers etc. You only need to climb once on an outdoor route to have 'paid' for that climb - join the club to help with fund raising - only $20 p.a..
