Selection Process for Teams
All new players and returning players who did not play in 2013 will be put into a pool of players.
Players will be put into teams starting with those teams who have the least amount of players in them first. Teams will be made up of children from a variety of schools. It is at the Committee's descretion whether or not to move a child from one team to another. The club will only consider exceptional circumstances for a team change. (Being in the same team as a friend is not an exceptional circumstance).
Assistant Required to set up the grounds Saturday Mornings
The club would appreciate a volunteer to assist with setting up the grounds each Saturday or every second Saturday. The person/s would need to be at the club rooms at 7.30am for approximately 30 minutes. Please contact Simon Halford if you can assist.
Return of club gear
Could all coaches please return any borrowed gear ASAP. Especially, the hit shields, these are needed to current events.
***Registration/weigh in night***
Registration and weigh in
will occur on Monday, 10th March 2014 between 5 and 7pm
at the club rooms.
Parents/caregivers may register their child/ren for the 2014 season now. The online registration form (Junior Rugby Player Registration (2014)
is under the "Registration Forms" tab. A copy of the registration form will be sent to your nominated email account. Please print it off and bring it to the weigh in night. Alternatively, there will be computers /printers available on registration night for parents to use.
Fees for 2014 are $45 for the first child and $15 for each additional sibling. Fees can be paid on registration night or via internet banking before registration night. The club's account details are HNJRC 03 0642 0982843 02.
Please use your child/ren's name/surname as the reference.
Any 5th grade players who are 4 years old as of 1st January 2014 must complete a parental consent form on registration night. Forms will be available for parents. They must also bring their child's birth certificate or passport.
All new players to the club (no matter what age) are required to bring their birth certificate and/or passport to registration night.
Club rugby socks will be available on the night to purchase.
All 10th to 12th grade players (full field) will need to have their photo taken for identification cards. The time and date for these will be notified in due course.
*** Rugby Boots ***
Could anyone wishing to donate second hand boots please contact Ange Wylie (contacts tab). Second hand boots will be for sale on registration night.
All teams are given the option of having a team sponsor (usually one of the parents or their business). The involves payment of $250 to have the naming rights on the back of a team's t-shirt.
Please contact your child/ren's coach, once the teams have been finalised to express your interest in sponsoring a team. Please contact Leah Setford if you have any difficulty obtaining a sponsor.
***Coaches Night 5th grade to 12th grade***
This will be held for all head and co coaches on Friday, 21 March at 7pm at the Club rooms.
***No training on field 1 or 2***
Please refrain from training on these fields. If there is no space left for training, please do it on field 2 only.
The club will be running a free boxing/rugby camp on Sunday, 9th and 16th March. Starts at 4.30pm. Suitable for 8 years and up.
There is no need to register. There is no need to wear boots. Bare feet will suffice. Please ensure your child has a named drink. The camp will be run by the squash courts.

***RDCL Junior 7's Training Camp***
RDCL is sponsoring a free 7's training camp for 10th, 11th and 12th grade players.
This will be held on 7th, 14th and 21st March between 5.30pm and 6.30pm by the Squash Courts. Spaces are limited to 50. There are only 8 spaces left. There is an online registration form ("registrations tab" above).

***Extra weigh in nights***
There will be two held in Hastings.
When: 6 April - Venue to be confimed
13 April - Venue to be confirmed
Time: 1- 3pm
If you cannot make the weigh in night on 10 March, you must attend one of the above dates for your child to be weighed. Take a copy of your online registration form with you. If you are new to the club you must also take your child's birth certificate or passport. If your child is 4 years old as of 1 January 2014, you must complete a parental consent form and give it to the weigh master. Forms will be available on the day.
All 2013 players must register before 31 March 2014 in order to be eligible to play. This does not apply to new players or returning players who do not play during 2013.

***Small Blacks Course for all coaches***
The small blacks course will be held on Sunday, 23 March at 9am at the club rooms. All coaches (head and co coach) are required to attend.
This has been set down for 17th May 2014.
***Kahuranaki Mountain Bike Race***
The Club is hosting a mountain bike race to raise funds for the Queenstown Tournament.
When: Sunday, 20 April 2014 (Easter Sunday)
Where: Kahuranki Station
Age groups: Adult (17 yrs and over)
10 - 16 years olds
under 10 years.
