OUR CLUB

Our club caters for all grades from Kindy Rippa 3yr & 4yrs then 5 year olds to Intermediate School age.

Over the years we have developed an excellent reputation for turning out talented young rugby players, many of whom have gone on to play for the All Blacks, NZ age group, Super Rugby, Hawkes Bay Magpies and Olympic, Worlds and Commonwealth Games Swimmer.

We are equally proud of the many young adults who have achieved success in other areas of life, using the attributes of team work, fair play and personal achievement they developed while with the Havelock North Junior Rugby Club.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to install in each child a love for the game of rugby, in a safe and nurturing environment. In doing so, we want to ensure each player reaches his or her full potential, by emphasising the ideals of team work, sportsmanship, fair play and striving to achieve their personal best.

The committee have put together a Team Selection Guideline to help families understand how the beginning of the 2013 season will work:

Step One: Register your child online for your Club Registration. ("online registration form 2013"). You will receive a confirmation email to your nominated email account, Print this off and bring to weigh in night. You can also pay online. The cost per child is $40. Any siblings (playing from grades 5 upwards) only pay $15 extra.

Step Two: Previous Seasons Players will go into the team they were in last year. New Players will go into a draft (allocated a team depending on weight, age, team numbers) These draft players will be allocated a team at the coaches meeting.
Players who have had a season off - will go back into their old team - if that is not viable then they will go into the draft.

Step Three: A confirmation email will be sent to your nominated email address. Print it out and being to weigh in. The weigh in nights are listed under the above tab "registration/weigh ins". All grades 5th to 12th must attend a weigh in night.

Step Four: 5th Grade: Team selection is done to mix up weight, age and schools.
Current Players: Where possible most players will stay in last years team unless:
* Teams need balancing across the grades
* A player wants to repeat a grade

Team Requests:
If a player wants to move from Team A to Team B or there are requests for players to be put together in teams for practical purposes - these are discussed at the coaches evening. Any issues past the coaches meeting on team lists or further requests need to be put in writing (addressed to Simon Halford) to be discussed at committee meetings.

The club also has 2nd hand boots for sale. Please contact Ange Wylie (contacts tab) for more details. A donation is all that is required for 2nd hand boots.

*** 2013 Club Fundraisers ***

The club will be selling kindling outside the clubrooms on Saturdays - $12 for one bag or $20 for two

Soda Sparkle has also come on board this year.
SodaSparkle turns tap water into sparkling water. It can be flavoured with sugar-free flavourings. For more information about Soda Sparkle http://www.sodasparkle.co.nz/

***CLUB DAY***

The HNJRC club day is Saturday 25 May 2013.

The club is also selling 2nd hand rugby jerseys for $10 each

Coaches are invited to send photos to Conrad Waitoa for the HNJRC Facebook page. Please send the following details (grade, team, opposition, score) to Conrad by 5pm each Tuesday (conrad.waitoa@hbrugby.co.nz)

*** PHOTOS ****

Team photos will be on Sunday 4th August. All coaches please check your team sheets to make sure that the children's names are spelt correctly. A timetable will come out closer to the day about which time a team will have their photo.

*** OVERDUE FEES ***

Can any parents/guardians who have yet to pay their rugby subs ($40 for 1 Player , 2 Players $55, 3 Players $70 etc) please do so in the next two weeks. Payment can be made by direct credit into the club's bank account HNJRC 03 0642 0982843 02. Any overdue subs can also be given to any coaches to pass on to the Committee. Please contact your coach, if you have any issues with paying your child/ren's subs.
