OUR CLUB
Our club caters for all grades from Kindy Rippa 3yr & 4yrs then 5 year olds to Intermediate School age.

Over the years we have developed an excellent reputation for turning out talented young rugby players, many of whom have gone on to play for the All Blacks, NZ age group, Super Rugby, Hawkes Bay Magpies and Olympic, Worlds and Commonwealth Games Swimmer.

We are equally proud of the many young adults who have achieved success in other areas of life, using the attributes of team work, fair play and personal achievement they developed while with the Havelock North Junior Rugby Club.

OUR MISSION
Our mission is to install in each child a love for the game of rugby, in a safe and nurturing environment. In doing so, we want to ensure each player reaches his or her full potential, by emphasising the ideals of team work, sportsmanship, fair play and striving to achieve their personal best.

No training on number one field

Small Blacks Course
All teams must have two people (coach, co coach, manager, parent) attend a Small Blacks course.  The following course remains.
29 April 6pm @ Clive.
Any teams who do not have two representatives attend the small blacks course, may not have their team entered into the rugby draw by the Intercity Junior Rugby Board.

Ground Controller
The club urgently requires the assistance of a ground controller.  The ground controller is required to help set up at 7.30am each Saturday with the help of the rostered team.  The morning shift only takes 20 minutes.  They are also required to help pack everything away at approx 11.30am with the help of the rostered team.  The afternoon shift only takes 30 minutes.  The ground controller could be a parent or grandparent associated with the club.  The club will refund a child's rugby fees, if the ground controller is a parent or provide a finders fee of $50, if a parent sources a ground controller for the club.  All enquiries, please contact Gareth Kilsby (027 5369417)


Club Uniform/Clothing
On Friday, 1st May between 4pm and 4.45pm, Leah Setford will be selling socks and shorts.  The only remaining sock sizes are medium and large.  There are still size 6, 8, 10 and 12 shorts for sale

Associate Referees Course
Compulsory for one person from 10th, 11th and 12th grades to attend

Training at Havelock Domain - Friday nights
Teams are permitted to train at the Havelock Domain, if there is insufficient space at the club grounds on a Friday night.  The domain is unavailable the week of 25th May to 29th May (inclusive)

Further weigh ins
Any children (7th grade and above) who missed the club weigh in on Monday 23rd March need to attend another weigh in.

Other Weigh in's
Every Friday at Taradale rugby (Tareha rec reserve) between 4.30pm - 5.45pm.

All new 5th and 6th graders need to register online.  Please send a copy of your child's birth certificate to Leah Setford (setford@clear.net.nz).  Leah will also send you a parental consent form to complete and email back.

All new players to rugby will need their birth certifcate cited by the weigh master at a weigh in night and need to be weighed if 7th grade and above.

All 10th, 11th and 12th grade players need to have a head shot of their child uploaded to their on line registration form.


Registrations for 2015
The on line registration form is available under the "Registration forms" tab above.  Please fill in all the compulsory details.  A copy of the registration form will be sent to your email address.  Keep a copy of that form.  The online registration form is for 5th grade and up (not kindy rippa).    Kindy rippa children do not attend the weigh in night.  A new players need to attend a weigh in night, unless they are returning 6th graders.


Club Day
Our junior club day will be on 16 May 2015.  There will be a free sausage sizzle for all players.  All sponsors and coaches are welcome to attend the day.

Expressions of  interest for Queenstown tournament committee - 2016
The Club will be taking another 11th/12th grade combined team to the Queenstown rugby tournament in 2016.  This will involve the current 10th and 11th grade players.

Rugby Courses offered by the HBRU
All 10th, 11th and 12th grade teams must have at least one person attend the Associate Referees Course. Those dates have yet to be set by the HBRU.

Playing Dates for 2015
Season starts on: 2nd May
May: 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th.
June: 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th
July: 4th, 25th
August: 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th.
Season ends: 29 August

Fees for 2015
The fees for 2015 will be $50 for the first child and $15 for each additional sibling.  The club account is HNJRC account 03 0642 0982843 02. Please use your child's registered name as the reference.

All children who pay their fees fees will receive a  team photo and $50/100 credit towards a team meal at the club rooms. ($100 credit is for full field teams). All players will also receive a team sponsored shirt.
