Welcome to the Nelson Indoor Bowling Association Web Site

Anyone can play this wonderful game Men and Women of all ages play Indoor Bowls.  It can be played as a serious competitive sport or purely as a social activity.  No uniform or equipment is needed by the player other than flat soled shoes.  This has to be one of the cheapest sports available.

The AGM was held on the 2 Nov @ 7.00pm.  Thank you to everyone who took the time to attend this important meeting.

Closing night on Saturday 26
September was attended by 48 Bowler.  A fun night of games was had by all.  Well done to those who picked up Trophies that they had won during the Year.  Congratulations to Bryan Ramsey who was awarded his Gold Star for five championship wins.

Well done to Kaleb Johnston who was a semi Finalist at the NZ Junior Champs.  This is Kalebs first year at the Champs he qualified winning all of his Section games and went on to the Semi Finals.

The Shone and Shirley 2-4-2 Pairs Sponsored Tornament was played on Saturday 22 Aug.  18 teams entered with 8 qualifying.  The final was between Jim Carrick/Phil Jordan and Rhonda Bellis/Lyn Sloper.  Jim and Phil were up 6 - 4 after 6 ends, they then killed the next to ends to make the score 10 to 6 to Rhonda and Lyn. Jim and Phil had a chance to score 4 points on the last end to force an extra end but coildnt get the shot they needed . Well done to Rhonda and Lyn. 

As usual a great turn out for the popular Hope Grand Tournament which was played on Sunday 16 August. The results are listed in Club News above

A great turn out for the Golden Pairs and Fours played over the weekend of 1 and 2 August.  Our thanks to the Nelson Buiding Society for again sponsoring this tournament.
The Golden Pairs was won by Rhonda Bellis and Lyn Sloper, runner up were Mike and Kaleb Johnston.
The Pairs Plate winners was Barry Beams and Domenic Palumbo and runner up Mary Stewart and Dorothy Iddon.

The Golden Fours was won by Barry Beams, Neville Forsyth, Diane Grooby and Domenic Palumbo.  Runner up were Jean McKenzie,Peter Ross, Kevin McKenzie and Annette Ross.
Fours Plate Section winner was Mary Jordan, Linda Carrick, Jim Carricj and Philip Jordan.  Runner up were Mary Stewart, Dorothy Iddon, Alec McMurdo and June Haydon.

Neville Forsyth and his team of Pete Hodson, Phillipa Hoult and Annette Ross have won the Zone final of the NZ Mixed Fours held at Hokitika on Saturday 4 July.  They travelled on to Wanganui for the NZ final on Saturday 25 July.  Neville and his team were runner up to North Taranaki.  Well done to our Nelson Team.

The winners of the Richmond Drawn Fours for 2015 are the Suburban Club Team.  They had four straight wins.  Well done Suburban.

Mary Stewart(Skip), Dorothy Iddon, June Hayden and Peter Ford

To see the results of the CH of CH Open and Junior Singles click on Champ  of Champ above.  Well done to Pete Hodson who is the Open Singles Ch of Ch and will go off to the Hensilite Ch of Ch event in Christchurch later in the year also well done to Jarad Hart who beat Diane to win the Ch of Ch Junior Singles.
Clive Johnston beat Kaleb Johnston to win the Mens Ch of Ch Singles  This was a Grand Father versus Grandson final probably a first for Nelson. 
Philippa Hoult beat Annette Ross to win the Ladies Ch of Ch Singles for 2015  Well done to Clive and Philippa.

The Nelson Six's were played over the weekend of 25/26 July.  Eight teams competed ( 2 from Hope, 2 from Waimea and one each from Stoke, Suburban Wakefield and Whakapuaka Clubs). Section winners Stoke and Waimea 2 played off with Waimea running out winners. A great weekend of bowls was had by all.
